Clear expectations protect both the customer and the shop. These terms summarize our normal service practices; the approved estimate and invoice describe the work for your individual machine.
Plain-language terms. These are meant to explain what is included, when approval is required and what each party is responsible for—not to take away rights provided by law.
01
Estimates and authorization
Website package prices are starting prices for typical equipment and are not a final quote. The standard shop labour rate is $60 per hour. We will explain recommended repairs and obtain your approval before completing additional work beyond the agreed service. Taxes, parts, shop supplies, pickup and delivery may be additional unless included in the written estimate.
02
Tune-ups and repairs
A tune-up is scheduled maintenance and inspection; it is not a promise that every existing fault will be corrected. A basic tune-up is intended for equipment that already starts and runs. A full-service tune-up adds a broader inspection, lubrication and adjustment of applicable systems. Carburetor cleaning, internal engine work, electrical repairs and replacement of damaged or worn components are separate repairs unless specifically included in the approved work.
03
Diagnostic fee
Diagnostic work covers the time required to inspect and identify the likely cause of a reported problem. The diagnostic fee is applied toward an approved repair. It remains payable when repair is declined, the equipment is not economically repairable or no additional repair is authorized.
04
Parts and timelines
Parts availability, supplier delays and hidden damage can affect completion dates. Any timeframe is an estimate unless we confirm otherwise in writing. We may recommend new, aftermarket or suitable used parts; the type and price will be identified when material to your decision.
05
Pre-existing condition and unrelated failures
Used equipment may have wear, corrosion, previous repairs, missing fasteners, concealed damage or unrelated defects. We document material conditions we identify, but a repair applies only to the systems and work listed on the invoice. Fundy Small Engine Repair is not responsible for a later failure of an unrelated component or a pre-existing condition that was not caused by our work, to the extent permitted by law.
06
Testing and safety
You authorize reasonable starting, running, adjustment and operational testing needed to diagnose and verify the approved work. Fuel, oil or other consumables used for testing may be charged when required. We may decline or stop work on equipment that is unsafe, excessively contaminated, altered in an unsafe manner or outside our service capabilities.
07
Pickup and delivery
Pickup and return delivery are available by prior arrangement and are quoted based on location, equipment size and access. The customer must provide safe, clear access and identify any special loading requirements. Loose accessories, keys and attachments must be disclosed and secured. Pickup or delivery does not include installation, removal from buildings, stairs, inaccessible areas or operation at the customer’s property unless specifically agreed.
08
Customer-supplied parts and information
Please provide accurate equipment details, known symptoms, previous repair attempts and any safety concerns. Customer-supplied parts may be declined and are not covered by a Fundy Small Engine Repair parts warranty. Additional labour caused by incorrect, defective or incomplete customer-supplied parts may be charged with approval.
09
Payment, collection and storage
Payment is due when the equipment is returned or collected unless another arrangement is confirmed. Please collect completed or declined equipment promptly after notification. If equipment remains uncollected, we will attempt to contact you before any storage charge or further action is considered. Any storage or disposal arrangement will be communicated and handled in accordance with applicable law.
10
Repair concerns and legal rights
Contact us promptly if you believe the approved repair was not completed as described so we have a reasonable opportunity to inspect the equipment and address the concern. Nothing on this website excludes or restricts warranties, remedies or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded under New Brunswick or Canadian law.
